Terms of Service

Welcome to Rate My CV (“Rate My CV”, the “Service”), a community project operated by The Human Capital Hub (“we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What Rate My CV is

Rate My CV is an open arena where people post a CV (résumé) anonymously and receive ratings, verdicts and comments from the community. CVs and the resulting scores are public and can be shared. The Service is provided free of charge, for informational and entertainment purposes.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old, and old enough to form a binding contract in your country, to use the Service. By using it you confirm that you meet these requirements.

3. Your content and the rules

When you upload a CV or post a comment, you confirm that:

• The CV is your own, or you have the explicit consent of the person it describes to post it publicly. Do not upload someone else’s CV without their permission.
• You are responsible for redacting personal information you do not want public. We provide automatic redaction of names and employers and strip links, but this is a convenience, not a guarantee — review your CV before posting.
• Your content does not infringe anyone’s rights and does not contain unlawful, hateful, harassing, defamatory, or sexually explicit material, malware, or spam.

4. Community conduct

Ratings and comments are opinions. Be honest, be useful, and be kind. Do not harass, threaten, or target individuals, and do not attempt to identify or “dox” anyone behind a CV. We may moderate, hide, or remove content and may suspend access for anyone who breaks these rules. Community members can report content, which may be automatically hidden once it passes a reporting threshold.

5. Licence you grant us

You keep all ownership of your CV and your comments. To run the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, reproduce and distribute your submitted content within the Service and in derived materials such as share cards and preview images, and to allow other users to view, rate and comment on it. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for copies retained in backups or already shared by others.

6. Identities and accounts

You can use Rate My CV anonymously through a passport token stored in your browser, or create a lightweight identity with a nickname and passphrase. We do not collect your email address. Because there is no email on file, we cannot reset a forgotten passphrase — keep it safe. You are responsible for activity that happens under your identity.

7. Removing content

You may delete a CV you posted at any time from within the Service. Deletion removes it from public view; residual copies may persist in backups for a limited period and we cannot recall copies that others have already downloaded or shared. To request removal of content you cannot delete yourself, contact us at the address below.

8. Intellectual property

The Service itself — its name, design, software and branding — belongs to The Human Capital Hub and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service except as allowed by these Terms or applicable law.

9. No professional advice; disclaimers

Ratings, verdicts and comments come from the crowd and reflect personal opinions. They are notprofessional career, recruitment, legal, or financial advice, and they are not endorsed or verified by us. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and availability or accuracy of content.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Human Capital Hub and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, opportunities, or reputation, arising from your use of the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

11. Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms; when we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Termination

We may suspend or end your access to the Service at any time if you breach these Terms or to protect the Service or its users. You may stop using the Service at any time.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which The Human Capital Hub operates, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The specific governing law and venue are set out in the contact response or may be added here as the Service formalises.
